Also, I might add that you don't see Hindus, trying to ban beef in other countries. Nor do they want to find some reason to bomb the fuck out of the US for eating beef.

Some of you people seem to think that just because dogs are thought of in a certain way in the Western ("civilized") world, you can try to impose it on other cultures. This is cultural imperialism – you are trying to assimilate others into your cultures when they have no wish of doing so. It was bad when the Europeans took over Africa, and it's still bad today.

Your ideals are no more "moral" or "superior" to any other cultures – except, perhaps, in your mind. What is different about raising dogs to be eaten and breeding any other animal for consumption, i.e. pigs, cows, chicken? Nothing. Pigs are just as smart as dogs, so intelligence is not an excuse.

Yes, the treatment of dogs (torture, beatings) is a sin, and one that should be punishable. However, let us remember that livestock in the United States are not faring much better. Perhaps you should clean up your own act before suggesting others do it as well.

As to the commenter above me, obviously choice of culinary dishes is a legitimate excuse to bomb a country.

Why no hate campaigns? This is not anybody's "culture", this is sick and sadistic abuse by subhumans. These lot are vermin and I hope America finds some reason to bomb the fuck out of Korea - South especially, as that's where most of this perverse evil seems to go on. And lets face it - that's the only way this atrocity would stop. These so called people don't want to be educated by real humans, they want to continue torturing animals as if they have a right to.
God, please make these emotionless little insects posing as humans die a horrible death!

I love dogs. But, not inside of my mouth! I can say that my friend is Korean and he explained that it is not a normal thing to eat dog meat where he is from! I ate sheep balls once, but I wouldn't say that Americans eat sheep balls! It is defintely not my right to decide what another can eat or not eat! Except my family! Don't eat my family or we might have a problem. Except my Aunt Kathy! You can eat her! In fact she is always going around telling people to! Asalam Alakum Haters!

Killing any animal for food is fine when they are assured a comfortable life and a quick painless death. This killing of cats and dogs is NOT the same as us eating chicken or beef etc. As the animals we eat would have had a nice life (providing you buy free range chicken) i mean, here in Britain (i cannot speak for other countries as i dont know enough to) farmers take huge pride in the way they treat their animals, and if they were to hear someone comparing the eating of dogs and cats to the eating of poultry and cattle, they would be fuming. Trust me, i know a few!

Anyway i definitely do not, as a dog and cat lover myself, agree with or condone this sick practice of 'the longer an animal suffers when dying the better tasting its meat will be!' although, like everyone else, i am not blaming or critisizing the whole of korea or koreas culture, i think it is important for a country to have a culture distinguishing it from the others.

I think mor people should know about this and i will spread the word

A sentient being, is a sentient being, is a sentient being, whether it be a dog, cat, cow, chicken or pig. What I find most disturbing is the accepted practice of deliberate infliction of torture as a routine part of the slaughter. It makes me wonder how this practice will affects the spirits of all in that country, not just on how they treat their animals, but each other.

@ Brianca,

It is because you are only 14 years old that you do not understand foreign cultures. Who are you to say that you are right and another is wrong? Who are you do judge? There is even a country that is disgusted by people eating beef. To them, you are the disgusting one. You make them sick to their stomach. Once you grow older and wiser you will begin to understand that there isn't just one type of culture out there and there are many many different kinds of people in this world. It is what makes this world interesting. If everything was the same, it'd be as if the world converted to communism.

First off, it's nothing different than raising chickens or any other type of live stock. It's not as if they go rounding up pets. These are dogs breed for consumption. I'm sure farmers get attached to their own animals but they still have to kill them. Just because it's foreign to us as westerners doesn't make it wrong.
Second, it is delicious and obviously there is a market for it in Korea. I've been and enjoyed it. Little chewy but otherwise quite good.
