Cat Masking Tape Tricks

Cat Masking Tape Tricks

Watch what happens when this guy apply masking tape on different parts of a cat. Some may shrug this off as animal cruelty while some who tried says that it does not hurt the cat because its hair does not stick too well. Animal cruelty or not, you decide.

how are you so sure that its not hurting the cat? it’s reaction to the tape in the video clearly shows that its causing some physical pain!

As the owner of three cats, I know its pretty easy to tell when a cat is in pain. While this might be a pretty mean way to get a laugh, its not hurting it. Irritating it, probably, but its not in pain.

Its the same reaction we’d have to feeling a spiderweb above us…we’d duck down to try and avoid it. The cat doesn’t realise that no matter how low it goes the masking tape won’t come off, but if it was in pain it wouldn’t just be walking around, it would be meowing and running.

I agree. This doesn’t hurt the cat at all. It’s like tying a handkerchief to them. The reason why they walk like that is because they think something is touching them, so they move the opposite way. There is no cruelty in this, just a bit on the cats’s side hehe

kkkkk, i don know if this is really hurting the cat or not but i agree with both sides that it is a bad way to get a laugh by hurting and animal and mayb some ppl might be right that it doesn’t hurt the cat but still they shouldn’t be doing this anyway coz u will really never find out how any animal feels because u cant speak animal language and they can’t speak english!!

Well, it isn’t a nice thing to do to a cat… but no, the cat is not in physical pain. (Though I am not so sure that removing the tape would be entirely pain-free, though no, it would definitely not pull all of it’s hair out… but maybe a little bit of hair). It’s not nice more for psychological / emotional reasons. I am familiar enough with cats to know when they are in physical pain, and this cat was not in physical pain, but it was very confused, and trying to get away from what was touching it. It’s not nice to do this to a cat for the same reason it’s not nice to put a cat in a funny outfit and laugh at him / her. It’s just confusing, irritating and humiliating for the cat! Though I am human… and I’ll admit it is funny… not nice, but funny!
