Weird Animation - Rabbit
|
This is one of the weirdest animation that I have ever seen. It is very entertaining because you have no idea how the story is going to end. The animation delivers a strong message and it is easily deciphered after watching it. |

obviously the kids got greedy and the idol punished them for trying to abuse their good fortune by escaping and turning all the jewels back in to bugs.

I think it’s a commentary on using natural resources. Humans are greedy and will destroy ecosystems, exploit the earth of fossil fuels, cut down rainforests, and eradicate species for their own personal gain (sheep, horse and rabbit to diamonds). Mother nature is something that is still mystical to us… scientists don’t and never will understand how all of nature works (mother nature’s help represented by the idol). The kids became mass murderers because of their greed, and nature backfired on them. The manufactured earth (diamonds) became natural earth again (maggots), and like all living things that eventually rot and decay, the kids are returned to the natural earth. The rabbit once again runs free (which may be symbolic of the death of all mankind after global warming or nuclear winter, and the return of the earth to mother nature).

I don’t know.. this story seems too elaborate if the moral is simply about greed somehow. I would go along with shi in that the strong visualisation of natural things might add a deeper meaning to the message, but maybe a sigar is just a sigar

Watch subject. Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? How does that work in a democracy again? How does being more threatening make us more likeable?Isn’t
the country with the most weapons the biggest threat to the rest of the world? When one country is the biggest threat to the rest of the world, isn’t that likely to be the most hated country?
Our country is in debt until forever, we don’t have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren’t living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.

the idol is false, therefore when the children start to wordship it, it simply backfires on them.

If you cut open a rabbit, an idol will give you false hopes. That’s the message…probably..

This was an equally disturbing and beautiful animation. And the meaning and messages behind it are either up to the creator(s) or us. But wow, it was beautiful.

I’d have to agree, the meaning behind it all is either up to us or to the creators.
